MICHELLE HENRY
ELEMENTAL
2021 - 2022
Elemental refers to the basics, the fundamentals, the things that are just always there. I painted lemon blossoms because they were in bloom on the small tree in a pot in our front yard while we were in lockdown and they were a small source of joy in an otherwise very bleak time. The titles are from three different poems about lemons. "Lemon Blossom" by Elisa Maria Argiro, "The Lemon" by Eugenio Montale and "A Lemon" by Pablo Neruda. Click here for a link to the poems.
